Do I need a doctor's referral to book an appointment?
No, you do not need a doctor's referral to book directly with MedRehab. You can contact us via WhatsApp or phone and our team will schedule your initial assessment. However, if you are claiming through a medical aid provider, some insurers may require a referral letter — we recommend checking with your specific provider beforehand.
What happens during my first appointment?
Your first visit begins with a comprehensive assessment by one of our clinicians. We take a detailed history of your condition, perform a physical or functional evaluation, and identify the root cause of your difficulties. A personalised treatment plan with clear goals and realistic timelines is then created. Please bring any relevant medical reports, imaging (X-rays, MRI), or referral letters if you have them.
What is the difference between physiotherapy and occupational therapy?
Physiotherapy focuses on restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving physical function through exercise, manual therapy, and rehabilitation techniques. Occupational therapy focuses on enabling individuals to perform meaningful daily activities — such as self-care, work, and household tasks — following illness, injury, or disability. Both therapists work collaboratively at MedRehab, and many patients benefit from both disciplines simultaneously.
Does MedRehab accept medical aid or health insurance?
Yes, we work with most major medical aid providers in Zimbabwe. We also welcome self-pay patients. Please contact us to confirm whether your specific medical aid scheme is accepted.
Do you provide services for children?
Absolutely. MedRehab provides paediatric services across multiple disciplines — physiotherapy for motor delays and physical conditions, occupational therapy for developmental challenges and fine motor skills, and speech therapy for communication disorders.
